Simple.
This essay was inspired by the writings of Langston Hughes who was one of our great American writers who wrote with conscience
There was a man during the days of Langston Hughes. He was a simple man, who was named Simple. He was not as simple as his name would suggest, but his thoughts where clearly stated and easy to understand.
In this world of confusion and dismay, you would think that we would want to discover some simple ways to live. We live in a complicated world that we’ve increasingly attempt to complicate much of what we do by adding layers of confusion, and distortion to our communication.
If Simple is as simple does. Why do we make it the more difficult it is the more difficult it becomes?
Simple asked questions on life and why things were they way they are. He asked why he couldn’t call a Bitch a Bitch, which had nothing to do with it be a woman, but with a behavior. The B in bitch was simple question he asked. If you act like a Bitch why can’t I call you a Bitch?
In a world that exist for you and I there are some simple ways to live that we have not embraced. The technology we have is supposed to bring a greater ease to our lives and in some ways it does. We simply take that technology and make it work against us. We drive drunk, we drive while we text, and wonder why things don’t work.
The heart is where the simple resides, Can we find it or is it forever lost in the cascade of the mind that imprisons our hearts and stifles our souls. There is simple way to live that allows us to laugh, play and develop.
Simple asked “ if there is s game preserve to protect animals, why isn’t there one for Negros”. I ask if we can rescue puppies and care more about Roger Clemons using steroids, why can’t we simply just luvv one another without distortion.
This is the time to be simple and to release our minds from the imprisoned affects of societal norms, while allowing the freedom to flow. Lets find freedom and be accountable for the development of character and discipline that it takes to luvv at greater levels.
Learning how to make something out of the nonsense is the new world order of things. The nonsense leads us a greater essence that evolves out of no thing.
I am in a place of nonsense right now. Constantly learning how to build greater trust and luvv so that money and magic can brew a sweet cocktail of joy and happiness.
Langston Hughes character, Simple, was one of his greatest writings in a series of great works. Simple is a symbol of a life that is available to us all.
